Ben Alder Estate
Ben Alder Estate is looking for an Estate Gardener to join its private Highland sporting estate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced gardener who enjoys working in a traditional estate setting and takes pride in maintaining beautiful gardens to an exceptional standard.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for horticulture who enjoys working outdoors and helping preserve the character of a historic Highland estate.
The Role
Maintain formal lawns, herbaceous borders and ornamental beds.
Care for trees, shrubs, roses and hedging.
Carry out seasonal planting, propagation and general horticultural work.
Operate and carry out basic maintenance of garden machinery and tools.
Monitor plant health and manage pests and diseases where required.
Support new planting schemes and improvements across the estate.
Maintain pathways, greenhouses and garden structures.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
Proven experience in horticulture or professional gardening.
Excellent plant knowledge and practical gardening skills.
A proactive and self motivated approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small estate team.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors throughout the year.
Full UK driving licence.
Not Essential
RHS, NVQ or equivalent horticultural qualification.
Experience working on a private estate, country house or historic garden.
