NHS Western Isles is looking for Registered Nurses to join its bank nursing teams across hospital and community services in Lewis and Harris.
These flexible bank roles offer experienced nurses the opportunity to work across varied clinical settings while continuing their professional development within NHS Western Isles.
The Role
Provide professional nursing care based on the individual needs of patients.
Assess patients’ care needs.
Develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
Take professional responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing care.
Work within hospital and community settings.
Support the development of colleagues working within hospital and community services.
Work across varied clinical environments as part of the NHS Western Isles bank nursing team.
Working Pattern
Staff Bank.
Hours as required.
The main location is Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, with opportunities across hospital and community services in Lewis and Harris.
Applicants should indicate which island they would prefer to work on.
Travel between islands can be arranged.

What We Are Looking For
Essential
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
Applications are welcomed from General Nursing and Mental Health nursing backgrounds.
Experience nursing patients within an acute and/or community environment.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Ability to provide professional, person centred nursing care.
Successful applicant must join the PVG Scheme.
Not Essential
Ability to work independently is desirable but not essential.
What Is On Offer
Band 5 salary of £34,544 to £43,039 pro rata.
£1,461 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata.
