SSEN Transmission
SSEN Transmission is looking for experienced Land Managers to support major electricity transmission projects across Scotland, with Inverness among the available bases.
This role would suit an experienced land professional who understands Scottish landownership, property rights and compensation and can manage negotiations surrounding nationally significant infrastructure projects.
The Role
Secure the land rights required for major electricity transmission projects.
Support development of proposed 400kV overhead lines, underground cables and substations.
Prepare necessary wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
Liaise with landowners and occupiers over proposed routes and site selection.
Assess the impact of infrastructure projects on land and businesses.
Negotiate wayleaves and servitudes.
Apply good land management practice throughout projects.
Carry out valuation and compensation assessments.
Help ensure agreements are fair and balanced for the parties involved.
Project manage the production of wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
Develop and implement land assembly strategies.
Work with internal and external stakeholders throughout projects.

Permanent.
Full time.
Flexible First working options are available.
Successful applicants will be based from Inverness, Perth or Aberdeen.
Around 50% of the working week is expected to be spent in the office.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
Good understanding of landownership systems in Scotland.
Good understanding of land management practices.
Understanding of the use of compulsory powers.
Practical knowledge of land management matters.
Experience dealing with land and property rights.
Experience involving wayleaves, servitudes and land acquisition.
Understanding of compensation principles.
Ability to manage the production of wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
Ability to develop and implement land assembly strategies.
Strong organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Clear communication skills.
Practical problem solving ability.
Not Essential
Experience gained within energy networks, utilities or a comparable environment would be advantageous.
