CalMac Ferries is looking for a Port Assistant to join its team at Port Askaig.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and wants to play an important part in keeping Scotland’s lifeline ferry services running safely and efficiently.
The Role
Provide friendly and efficient ticket sales and customer service.
Help customers choose the most suitable travel options.
Operate ticketing systems and issue tickets accurately.
Answer customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
Support customers during service disruptions and travel changes.
Assist with vessel movements and traffic management.
Help maintain a safe, clean and organised port environment.
Support pier maintenance and day to day port operations.
Working Pattern
Permanent position.
40 hours per week.
Shift work including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
Excellent customer service skills.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working hours.
Ability to remain calm in a busy operational environment.
Not Essential
Previous experience in customer service, transport or port operations would be beneficial.
Training will be provided.
