Walker’s Shortbread is looking for a Grounds Apprentice to join its Grounds Team in Aberlour.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining beautiful surroundings and wants to build a career in grounds maintenance and horticulture.
The Role
Carry out grass cutting and grounds maintenance.
Operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment.
Report faults and arrange equipment repairs when required.
Carry out mixed woodland management.
Maintain company grounds to a high standard.
Organise firewood for sale.
Report timber and firewood requirements.
Clear leaves from pathways and grounds.
Help keep roads and walkways safe during snow and icy conditions.
Working Pattern
38 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 4.00pm.
Friday, 7.30am to 2.00pm.
Temporary apprenticeship for up to two years.
Opportunity for the role to become permanent.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
Positive and proactive attitude.
Good level of physical fitness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence.
Passion for working outdoors.
Interest in horticulture.
Not Essential
Previous grounds maintenance experience would be beneficial.
Training will be provided throughout the apprenticeship.
