Loch Abar Mòr is looking for a Nature Restoration Officer to support the delivery of ambitious nature recovery projects across Lochaber and the West Highlands.

This role will suit someone with project management experience, a strong understanding of ecology and nature restoration, and a passion for helping deliver meaningful environmental change on a landscape scale.

The Role

Supporting the delivery of nature restoration projects across Lochaber.
Working with land managers, communities and partner organisations to develop restoration plans and projects.
Managing information, project plans, budgets and partnership documentation.
Supporting ecological surveys, feasibility studies and specialist contractor work.
Helping secure funding for future restoration projects.
Supporting community engagement activities and partnership events.
Coordinating research projects and environmental initiatives.
Assisting with the day to day administration of the partnership.
Working closely with partners to deliver projects across a range of habitats from marine environments to mountain woodlands.

What We Are Looking For

Essential
Experience managing projects, operational areas or contract work.
Experience of project administration and organisation.
Experience managing budgets and financial information.
Previous involvement in nature recovery or restoration projects.
A good understanding of land use and nature recovery in the West Highlands.
The ability to work independently and remotely.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Strong writing and report preparation skills.
Confidence working with spreadsheets, budgets and project information.
Strong attention to detail.
A Full UK Driving Licence.

Not Essential
A degree in ecology, conservation or a related subject.
Experience using QGIS.
Experience commissioning ecological surveys or specialist consultancy work.

What Is On Offer

Salary of £34,000 to £36,000 depending on experience.
Home based working within Scotland.
IT equipment provided.
Support towards home office equipment where required.
Travel expenses paid in accordance with policy.
28 days annual leave including public holidays.
Five additional office closure days between Christmas and New Year.
